SongSmith AI ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our Chrome extension and website.
1. INFORMATION_WE_COLLECT
Website (Waitlist)
When you sign up for our waitlist, we collect:
- Email address - Used solely to notify you when SongSmith AI is available
Account Registration (Premium Users)
When you create an account or subscribe to premium features, we collect:
- Email address - For account identification and communication
- Authentication data - Secure tokens managed by Firebase Authentication
- Subscription status - Your current plan and billing period
Chrome Extension - Local Data
The SongSmith AI extension stores the following data locally on your device:
- OpenRouter API Key - Stored in Chrome's secure sync storage to enable AI features
- User preferences - Your custom instructions, settings, and profiles
- Album data - Song concepts and album plans you create
- Extension state - UI preferences like panel position
- Authentication tokens - Securely stored locally for account access
Chrome Extension - Suno Integration
To enable automation features on Suno.com, the extension:
- Reads page content - To detect song lists and enable batch downloads
- Captures session tokens - Your existing Suno authentication is used to enable download features. These tokens are only used locally and are never sent to our servers
- Fills form fields - When you click "Fill Suno Form", the extension populates Suno's creation interface with your generated content
Important: All Suno interactions use your own Suno account and credentials. We do not have access to your Suno password or account.
2. HOW_WE_USE_YOUR_INFORMATION
- Email addresses - For account management, product updates, and launch notifications
- API keys - To authenticate with OpenRouter on your behalf (keys are sent directly to OpenRouter, not to our servers)
- Local data - To provide extension functionality; this data never leaves your device unless explicitly synced via Chrome
- Subscription data - To verify premium feature access and manage your subscription
- Suno session data - Used locally only to enable batch download and automation features
3. DATA_STORAGE_AND_SECURITY
Local Storage: Extension data is stored locally using Chrome's storage APIs. Your API keys and preferences are stored on your device and optionally synced via your Google account if you're signed into Chrome.
Server Storage: For premium users, we store minimal account data on secure servers:
- Firebase Authentication - Manages secure sign-in (email, user ID, authentication tokens)
- Firestore Database - Stores subscription status and user preferences
Payment Processing: All payment information is handled securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full credit card number. Stripe's security practices comply with PCI-DSS standards.
Waitlist Data: Email addresses collected via the waitlist are stored in Google Sheets with standard Google security protections.
4. THIRD-PARTY_SERVICES
SongSmith AI integrates with the following services:
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services.
5. PERMISSIONS_DISCLOSURE
The Chrome extension requests the following permissions:
- storage - To save your settings, API keys, and album data locally
- activeTab - To interact with Suno.com when you're on that site
- scripting - To inject the sidebar panel and fill forms on Suno.com
- tabs - To detect when you navigate to Suno.com
- downloads - To save generated audio files and album packages
- identity - To enable Google Sign-In for premium accounts
- Host access to suno.com - To enable automation features on Suno's website
- Host access to openrouter.ai - To send AI generation requests
- Host access to Firebase/Google APIs - For authentication services
6. DATA_SHARING
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:
- Payment processing - Billing information is shared with Stripe to process payments
- AI generation - Your prompts are sent to OpenRouter to generate content
- Legal requirements - When required by law or to protect our rights
7. YOUR_RIGHTS
You have the right to:
- Access - View all data stored by the extension in Chrome's storage, or request your account data
- Delete - Remove all local extension data by uninstalling the extension, or request account deletion by contacting us
- Opt-out - Unsubscribe from emails at any time
- Cancel subscription - Cancel your premium subscription at any time through the account settings
- Data portability - Request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format
8. DATA_RETENTION
- Local data - Retained until you uninstall the extension or clear Chrome storage
- Account data - Retained while your account is active, deleted within 30 days of account deletion request
- Payment records - Retained as required by law for tax and accounting purposes
9. CHILDREN'S_PRIVACY
SongSmith AI is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.
10. INTERNATIONAL_DATA_TRANSFERS
Your data may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using SongSmith AI, you consent to the transfer of your data to these locations.
11. CHANGES_TO_THIS_POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by:
- Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
- Sending an email notification for material changes (for registered users)
